কলকাতা লিগে বাড়লো বিদেশী সংখ্যা.
Previously the Indian Football Association declared that the clubs can sign three foreigners and could field any two. But, from the upcoming season, the AIFF has announced to sign eight foreigners in I-League and field any five. That is why, the IFA has also announced that the Clubs can field all the three foreigners they will sign for the Calcutta Football League.
Besides, the Bengal Football Parent body has also declared that, every team must play an under-23 player for the entire 90 minutes for which, they can sign five under-23 footballers. The IFA has also declared to start an under-19 Kolkata Football Tournament from this season, which will be mandatory for all clubs to take part form the season 2019-20.
Moreover, the Calcutta Football League, that got shifted to Barasat and Saltlake for the past few years, will again come back to the Kolkata Maidan. Except the matches among Kingfisher East Bengal, Mohun Bagan and Mohammedan Sporting, all the other matches would be played in the Kolkata Maidan. Which means, the Kolkata giants will play their remaining(except the Derby and Mini-derbies) at their own club ground. The IFA has also decided to telecast atleast 36-40 matches of Calcutta Football League. The tournament will begin from 6th or 7th August and the defending champions, Kingfisher East Bengal will the first Kolkataa giant to start the league!
The venue for the East-Mohun Calcutta derby has not been finalized yet.
