Depleted East Bengal Looks To Tame Blue.

A series of unfortunate events disrupting Trevor James Morgan & his boy's stupendous inception in I-League 2016-2017 took a brutal setback in Aizwal ending their undefeated run in I-League 2016-2017 that has stirred panic amongst fans, club management leading to various stories of skirmishes between players, coach & management leading to various fallacious reported articles in many esteemed dailies in West Bengal.

These outbreak of events came into limelight after the Red & Gold brigade suffered their first loss 1-0 to Aizwal F.C. on 20th Feb 2017. The gaffer & his players took complete culpability regarding their abysmal display on the field. The match saw their invaluable front man Willis Plaza limping off with a groin injury will miss the match at Kanteerava Stadium against Bengaluru F.C on 25th.

Bengaluru FC would look to make amends when they face a depleted East Bengal side. With skipper, Dika suspended & right back Rahul Bheke injured TJM might bring in talented Robin Gurung & Md. Rafique to fill up the gaps in midfield. Nikhil Poojary who has been impressive with his I-League outings would start as the U22 player. The biggest test will be for Aussie hitman Chris Payne who may start the match in place of Willis Plaza & might get his only chance to prove his worth to the team, fans & management who currently are willing to axe him after dismal outings in two matches he played. The Indian star center back Arnab Mondal was also dropped from the squad as he is yet to get match fit.

On the other hand, the defending champions who faded away after a bright start to their I-league campaign would look to get back into championship contention & improve their position in points table. Highest Indian goalscorer C.K. Vineeth & defense stalwart J.Johnson may miss the match but with a balance, the side comprising of Indian captain Sunil Chettri, star player E.Lyngdoh, U22 Udanta Singh has full potential to upset any side on a given day. Alberto Roca would look to play their possession football with West Block Blues making life difficult for visitors.

The coach TJM said " We have played 10 matches & lost 1, there is no pressure on me. The pressure I feel is created from outside". He further added " we will look to win even if we garner 3 points or lose it won't be effect I-League campaign. We will go for a win if not possible a point would be enough."

EBRP supporters are also traveling to Bengaluru to neutralize West Block Blues & support their team to bounce back in I-League 2016-2017.

The match will be televised live on Ten 2 from 7 pm.
