KINGFISHER EAST BENGAL DEFEATS ARMY XI BY 2-1
East Bengal won there 3rd match of the CFL against ArmyXI on Friday at Barasat Stadium. The eyes were on Calum Angus & Adileja as they started the game keeping DO DONG HYUN in the benches . East Bengal made few tactical change employing Angus in central deffence along with Arnab, which meant Gurwinder was rested. Midfield was boosted with the return of Lalrindika Ralte in place of Dong. The match saw lots of attacks build up by East Bengal, Mehtab & Rafique was excellent in the midfield ! Mehtab once again snatched all the limelight with a stunning perfomance tonight. He created attacks also defended back. Rafique a roaming midfielder played well & also scored for the Champions.
Dika had a great match too, he dodged past several times & was very crutial in midfield. But the best of the lot was Avinash Rui Das. The left footed sensation played a gem of a match, he controlled the entire match. Due to Rui Das the left flank saw numerous crosses, one of them was converted by Jiten. Rahul Bheke & Narayan Das was quite good, they played their skin out helping the defence & attack equally. Deservingly Avinash rui das was awarded the Man of the Match for his performance. Morgan took 3 changes as he injected Robert in place of Narayan, Dong in place of Adileja & Mehtab was forcefully taken out due to slight injury & Jairu came in. Dong just before the final whistle created a golden oppurtunity for Jiten as he cut past 2 defenders before setting it, but Jiten like many other oppurtunities in today`s match missed it totally.
Army did score once, a centre from the right flank was misjudged by luis Baretto & the ball fell in the feet of Army Player. Overall East Bengal dominated the proceedings by 58-42 % ball possesion. But let us conclude by saying Angus was good today & Adileja did move quite swiftly as he tried hard, but Dong sitting out is not desired by any East Bengal fan..!!
