Uphill Clash Awaits Reduced East Bengal.
With a dazzling performance against defending champions BFC, a depleted East Bengal side will look to break their jinx against resilient Lajong F.C. The Shillong outfit who has always been a thorn in the flesh for Trevor James Morgan & his side.
Lajong FC currently enjoying their dream run with 5 wins from their last 7 matches will start the match as favourites. East Bengal with their talismanic duo of Willis Plaza & Wedson Anselme both ruled out due to injuries will have to deal with a well oiled Lajong FC side & their striker Dipanda Dica leading the table with 8 goals.
Amidst all the permutations & combinations the East Bengal gaffer would bank on his old warhorse Robin Singh who scored a brace against BFC will lead the attack with Aussie Striker Chris Payne. TJM might not change the starting eleven from the previous match but Dika might replace injured Wedson Anselme in the midfield. A solid back four performance by Gurwinder & the big Ugandan I. Bukenya would ensure that Indian international Arnab Mondal starting on the bench.
East Bengal will have a chance to move further increase their lead from Aizwal & Mohun Bagan AC who will play later. On the other hand, Thangboi Singto would like to take his team into the top four with a win.
The match will be telecasted live on Ten 2 from 4:35 pm.
