70 thousand fans watched East Bengal vs Kuwait FC AFC Cup Semifinal a record in 2013

On this day in 2013 October 22, East Bengal hosted Kuwait SC in the second leg of the AFC Cup 2013 Semi Final which is one of the biggest matches in Indian Football. A late flourish in the first leg saw East Bengal score two crucial goals in the second half after having going down 0-4. However, East Bengal’s hopes of making it to the AFC Cup final were dashed by defending champions as they lost the second leg by 0-3. The Red & Gold Brigade lost the semifinal by 2-7. 

However, the highlight of the match was that a capacity of 70K fans watched the match at Yuva Bharati Krirangan, a record for the AFC Cup in 2013.
