India lost to host UAE in their second match to a late penalty of the AFC U-23 Championship Qualifiers at the Fujairah Stadium in Dubai on Wednesday.

Incidentally, both of the Group E encounters ended in a similar fashion on the night. Oman defeated Kyrgyz Republic to a late penalty like the hosts UAE, who defeated India owing to 82′ spot-kick by Abdulla Idrees.

After the second day match, all the four teams are locked on three points each, with identical goal differences. The group champions will qualify for the finals in Uzbekistan next year, with four best runner-up nations will also qualify.

On the last day, Hosts UAE will face Oman while India face-off with the Kyrgyz Republic on October 30.
