Army Red defeated Indian Super League (ISL) champion Hyderabad FC 1-0 in a Group C match of the 131st Indian Oil Durand Cup football tournament at the Khuman Lampak Stadium in Imphal on Saturday.
Suresh Meitei scored the only goal of the match for Army Red in 33’.
Despite the loss Hyderabad FC finished at top of Group C, while Army Red jumped to second place with 5 points in group C. The result of Chennaiyin FC and NEROCA FC will decide the second team to qualify for knockout stage.
