Indian men’s football team has been grouped along with China, Bangladesh and Myanmar for the 2023 Asian Games. China are the highest ranked team in the group with 80th in FIFA ranking followed by India at 99 while Myanmar are 160th and Bangladesh 189th.
In Asian Games, Indian men’s football team won gold medals at the New Delhi 1951 and Jakarta 1962 Asian Games and clinched a bronze at Bangkok 1970.
Group A: China, Bangladesh, Myanmar, India
Group B: Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Mongolia
Group C: Uzbekistan, Syria, Hong Kong, Afghanistan
Group D: Japan, Palestine, Qatar
Group E: South Korea, Kuwait, Thailand, Kuwait
Group F: North Korea, Indonesia, Kyrgyz Republic, Chinese Taipei
Top two teams of each group and four best third-placed team will advance to the round of 16.
