Belgium defeated Canada 1-0 in Group F match of 2022 FIFA World Cup at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, Qatar.
Belgium gets a record-equaling (Brazil 1986-1994 and 2002-2010) eighth consecutive group stage win at the World Cup.
Canada looked a better side for most of the match, but Belgium scored the all-important goal to start their campaign with a win. Canada had their chances when they were awarded with a penalty through VAR check in 11′, however, Alphonso Davies could not convert it.
In 44′, Michy Batshuayi scored the all-important goal for Belgium.
