Bengal defeated Uttar Pradesh 8-0 in their third match of Hero 27th Senior Women’s National Football Championship 2022-23 campaign at Sports Ground, Hindustan College of Science and Technology, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.

However, Bengal failed to progress to quarterfinals as they finished second in points table behind Tamil Nadu.

Earlier, Bengal defeated Arunachal Pradesh 3-0, but lost to Tamil Nadu 4-0.

Bengal have won the championship twice in 1991-92 and in 1996-97 while finished Runners-up on 13 occasions.
