Bengaluru FC wasted a lead of two goals against FC Goa as both the teams played a 2-2 draw in Group A league match of the Indian Oil 131st Durand Cup at the Salt Lake Stadium here on Tuesday.
For Bengaluru FC captain Sunil Chhetri scored in 24’ while substitute Siva Sakthi doubled the lead in 26’. Despite fielding a reserve side, FC Goa fought back well to level the score in the second half through Phrangki Buam 53’ and captain Lesly Rebello in 64’.
Bengaluru FC with this draw qualified for knockout stage with 7 points from 3 matches. FC Goa remained at third place with 4 points from 4 matches. Mohammedan Sporting Club had already booked their place in knockout from this group.
