Bengaluru FC defeated Mumbai City FC 2-1 in the final of the 131st Durand Cup to claim its maiden crown at Kolkata today.
N. Sivasakthi gave Bengaluru FC the lead in the 10’. Lalengmawia Ralte equalized for Mumbai City FC on 30’. However, Alan Costa in the 61’ scored the winning goal for Bengaluru FC.
Mumbai City had a good chance to equalize in the 76’ via substitute Alberto Noguera, but his shot from the edge of the penalty box missed the target.
Bengaluru had a chance to increase its lead in the 87’ but Lachenpa made a heroic save to deny Chhetri the opportunity to find a goal.
