Bengaluru FC edged Mumbai City FC 9-8 on penalties in the first semi-finals of Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2022-23 match at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Sunday to enter the Indian Super League final.

In regulation period, Mumbai City FC won by 2-1, with aggregate got tied at 2-2.

For Mumbai City FC, Bipin in 30′ and Mehtab in 66′ scored the goals while for Bengaluru FC Hernandez scored in 22′.

This is the third time Bengaluru FC moved to the final of Indian Super League.

It was a long shoot-out with players from both teams scoring with ease until Mumbai City FC’s hero Mehtab Singh saw his spot-kick saved by Gurpreet which was also the 17th kick of the shoot-out to allow Bengaluru FC a real shot at glory. Sandesh Jhingan stepped up and scored the match-winning penalty to send the crowd into ecstasy and Bengaluru FC storm into the Final.
