Chennaiyin FC got back to winning ways after a narrow 1-0 win over Jamshedpur FC in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 at the Athletic Stadium in Bambolim on Sunday.
Lukasz Gikiewicz (31’) scored the only goal of the match which was enough to separate the teams.
Jamshedpur FC slipped to sixth place with 13 points while Chennaiyin FC climbed to fifth place with 14 points.
Jamshedpur FC face NorthEast United FC in their next outing at the Athletic Stadium on Thursday while Chennaiyin FC will meet FC Goa at the same venue on Saturday.
Mohd Sajid Dhot won the Hero of the Match award.
Next on January 03, Odisha FC will take on Mumbai City FC. Meanwhile, SC East Bengal will next play against Bengaluru FC on January 04.
