Eight times champions China defeated Chinese Taipei 4-0 in the opening match of AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2022. The Group A encounter took place at the Mumbai Football Arena on Thursday.
For China, Wang Shuang scored a brace (3’, 68’) while Wang Shanshan (9’) and Zhang Xin (54’) scored a goal each.
China dominated proceedings as the Chinese Taipei side struggled to get hold of the ball even inside their own half.
This is China’s seventh straight win over Chinese Taipei without conceding a goal against them.
China will next face Iran on January 23.
