Defending Champion Spain U17 will face Colombia U17 in the final of FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup on Sunday at DY Patil Stadium.
Spain U17 struck in the final minute of regulation time to defeat Germany U17 in the second semifinal at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Wednesday. Lucia Corrales scored the all-important goal in 90’.
This will be the third final appearance for Spain U17. They had earlier won in 2018 and finished runners-up in 2014.
Meanwhile, Germany U17 was unlucky for the third time. Earlier in 2008 and in 2012 they lost in semifinals. In 2008 they finished third and in 2012 finished at fourth place.
Colombia U17 defeated Nigeria U17 6-5 on penalties in the first semifinal to reach its first final at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
Nigeria U17 will face Germany U17 for the third place play-off on Sunday.
