East Bengal Club’s 104th Foundation day was celebrated in a grand way at Khudiram Anushilan Kendra on Tuesday.
AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey, Secretary Shaji Prabhakaran and eminent footballers were present on this occasion.
Earlier, it was announced that Bharat Gaurab Award would be honoured to industrialist Ratan Tata. Due to his health problem, he was not present today however, sourced informed that he will confirm a date to the club officials.
Young cricketer Ankur Pal received the Gopal Bose Memorial Award.
Pradeep Das and Sagnik Banerjee were awarded Swapan Ball Best Supporter Awards. Pradeep Das though do not have vision power, but never miss a match of Red & Gold Brigade.
Bengal footballers were felicitated in the event. A special tribute was paid to the family of East Bengal’s ex footballer late Munna.
Cleiton Silva was named as the Best footballer of the year award. He is yet to arrive in the city, hence on behalf of him, East Bengal FC coach Carles Cuadrat received the award.
