East Bengal FC defeated arch rivals Mohun Bagan SG 3-1 in Kalinga Super Cup Group A match at Bhubaneswar to progress to last four.
Both the teams played attacking football, with East Bengal being more clinical in the final third. Even after missing key players like Naorem Mahesh Singh and Lalchungnunga, the Red & Gold Brigade held off Mohun Bagan from getting a grip on the game.
East Bengal skipper Cleiton Silva scored a brace in 24′ & 80′ and bagged the player of the match award. Nandhakumar scored the other goal in 63′.
Hector Yuste pulled back one for Mohun Bagan SG in 24′.
Earlier, East Bengal FC defeated Hyderabad FC 3-2 and Sreenidi Deccan 2-1.
East Bengal FC will face Jamshedpur FC in semi-finals.
