East Bengal FC eliminated from Hero Super Cup after a 2-2 draw against Aizwal FC

East Bengal FC played a 2-2 draw with Aizawl FC and thus was eliminated from the Super Cup 2023 at the Payyanad Stadium in Manjeri on Monday.

East Bengal FC required to win by atleast by three goals to keep qualification hopes alive. However, despite taking a 2-0 lead within 22 minutes, the Red and Gold Brigade could not hold on to their lead yet again.

It was the same old story, as earlier despite taking a 1-0 lead against Odish FC, the Red & Gold Brigade defence conceded a goal to finsih 1-1. Against Hyderabad FC East Bengal FC was leading by 3-1 in first half but finished the match 3-3.

For East Bengal FC Naorem Mahesh Singh in 17′ and Sumeet Passi in 22′ scored the goals. For Aizwal FC, H.K. Lalhruaitluanga in 42′ and David Lalhlansanga in 48′ equalized.
