East Bengal FC lost to arch rivals Mohun Bagan SG 1-0 in the final of Durand Cup at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan.

Dimitri Petratos netted the winner for MBSG in 71′ despite been down to 10 man. Anirudh Thapa was given the marching order in 62′.

In Group Stage East Bengal FC had got the better of Mohun Bagan SG.

NandhaKumar won the Golden Ball Award.

Last time, both the teams faced in Durand Cup final was in 2004 where The Red & Gold Brigade defeated Mohun Bagan SG 2-1 to win 16th title.

This was Mohun Bagan’s 17th Durand Cup title. They last won in 2000 when they defeated Mahindra United via Golden Goal.
