East Bengal FC lost to Belgaum United Football Academy 2-1 in Play-off of AIFF U15 Junior League 2024-25 on Sunday.
For East Bengal FC, Sisir Sarkar scored in 74′ while for Belgaum United Football Academy Lourembam Yuhenba Singh in 22′ and Mutum Biky Meitei in 79′ scored the gaols.
East Bengal FC will next face Bhuna Football Club on 13th May.
The winner of this group will qualify for the Final leg, the zonal winners of all 11 groups directly qualified for final leg.
Earlier, East Bengal FC finished the Zonal Leg campaign at second place with 16 points from 10 matches and qualified for the final round.
In first leg, East Bengal FC lost to Mohun Bagan SG by 4-2, Bengal Football Academy 4-3, defeated Bidhannagar Municipal Sports Academy 3-2, Mohammedan SC 2-1 and Adamas United Sports Academy 3-0.
In second leg, East Bengal FC lost to Adamas United Sports Academy 1-0, Mohun Bagan SG 3-1, played a 1-1 draw with Bidhannagar Municipal Sports Academy, defeated Bengal Football Academy 4-0 and Mohammedan SC 7-1.
