East Bengal FC lost to Crystal Palace 7-1 in Next Generation Cup 2024 7th-8th place match at Villa Academy Ground. Thus the Red & Gold Brigade finished at bottom of Next Generation Cup 2024.

For East Bengal FC, Debojit scored the only goal in 42′.

Earlier, East Bengal FC lost Crystal Palace FC 1-0 in regulation time then lost the penalty shootout by 4-2, against Everton 6-0 in regulation time and 4-1 in penalty shootout and against Aston Villa 4-0 in regulation time and 4-2 in penalty shootout

In Next Generation Cup after the regulation time, the teams will face off in a penalty shootout regardless of the full-time score. The team that wins the game in regulation will receive 3 points for their victory and the winner of the penalty shootout earns a bonus point.

Meanwhile, Punjab FC finished at third place in Next Generation Cup 2024 while Muthoot FA finished at sixth place.
