East Bengal FC lost to Mumbai City FC 3-2 in Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, Kolkata on Monday.
For Mumbai City FC, Nikolaos Karelis scored a brace in 43’ and in 87’ while Lallianzuala Chhangte scored one in 39’. For East Bengal FC, David Lalhlansanga scored one in 83’ while Sahil Panwar scored an OG in 66’.
Nikolaos Karelis of Mumbai City FC was adjudged Key Performer of the Match.
With this win, Mumbai City FC moved to fifth place with 23 points while East Bengal FC remained at eleventh place with 14 points.
East Bengal FC’s will next face Mohun Bagan SG in Kolkata Derby on January 11, whereas Mumbai City FC wll face Jamshedpur FC on January 12.
