East Bengal FC played a goalless draw with ATK Mohun Bagan in Eastern Regional Qualifiers of Reliance Foundation Development League 2023 at Naihati Stadium on Thursday.
In the mini Derby, ATK Mohun Bagan had players with Indian Super League experience, had a golden opportunity in the dying moments of the game to take the lead via a penalty. Lalrinliana Hnamte took the penalty, but East Bengal’s goal keeper Aditya Patra made a brilliant match-saving save.
East Bengal FC is leading the Eastern Regional Qualifiers table with 10 points from 4 matches.
Earlier, East Bengal FC defeated United SC by 1-0, Alipur Suruchi Sngha 4-1 and Odisha FC 2-1.
East Bengal FC will next play against Jamshedpur FC on March 27 at Kalyani Stadium.
