East Bengal FC signed winger Jerry Mawihmingthanga from Odisha FC. The winger has been signed on a short-term deal, which will run until the end of the 2025-26 season. The signing is aimed at increasing options and depth in attack.
Jerry started his senior professional career with DSK Shivajians in 2016, then he joined NorthEast United on loan in 2016, and then joined Jamshedpur FC, where he stayed for two seasons.
He then moved to Odisha FC in 2019, spending six seasons there, and helping the club win its first and maiden trophy, the AIFF Super Cup in 2023. In 141 matches in the ISL, Jerry has scored 18 goals and assisted 22 more.
Thangboi Singto, Head of Football at East Bengal, said “Jerry M. has a proven track record in the ISL. His addition strengthens our domestic core and gives us more options in the wide areas. We welcome him to the East Bengal family and look forward to his contributions in the Red & Gold”.
East Bengal head coach Oscar Bruzon said “Jerry is a proven talent in Indian football, capable of changing matches with his pace and directness. We are building a team that plays with personality and purpose, and he fits perfectly into that vision,”
