East Bengal is always known for creating uniqueness in Indian football. The new innovative idea that club initiated this time was the invitation letter for the opening ceremony of East Bengal Museum – ‘Raja Suresh Chandra Chowdhury Memorial Archive’.
The entire invitation letter was written in Bengali which has brought emotional attachment to millions of Red & Gold fans across the world. This kind of initiative of printing the invitation letter in local language to give the feeling of history and culture of the place to the entire world, first time have been done by East Bengal in Indian Sports.
The museum was inaugurated by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on August 17.
Raja Suresh Chandra Chowdhury Memorial Archive is having Videos of famous matches, Jersey and Kits of ex-players, first Shield in 1943, Durand in 1951 to Asean win in 2003 – all the trophies, famous and important books and documents related to East Bengal Club history. There is also the idea of retaining the evolution of the East Bengal jersey design since the 1920s.
This will be something that football lovers in India will experience for first time.
