WE STAND BY THEM AT THE TIME WHEN THEY NEED MOST
22nd October is a Black Day in East Bengal History, a day when the team conceded five goals against the arch rivals, Mohun Bagan. Guarding the citadel was young Abhra Mondal, who was left to take the blame of the debacle. While no one cared, we reached the residence of Abhra on 23rd morning and showed solidarity. On 3rd of January, East Bengal won the Federation Cup in tie-breaker with Abhra playing a stellar role. East Bengal won the tournament without conceding a single goal.
WE OFFER OURSELVES FOR HELPING THE CLUB:
In 2011 Calcutta Football League, East Bengal was allowed to feature in their home ground after a long time (2007). REAL POWER offered a voluntary service to manage and maintain the crowd, and at the same time upholding the true East Bengal spirit among the fans.
WE VALUE THE CLUB’S EFFORT TO CREATE NEW HISTORY:
East Bengal club requested REAL POWER to help the club with the merchandizing of their products. EAST BENGAL the REAL POWER started the initiative by opening a small kiosk at Kashba Bosepukur 2008 Durga Puja Samity’s pandal. It was distributed under the tag of REAL POWER. The work was considered noble by the club officials.
WE GIVE THEM SWEET SURPRISES:
Super Cup, 2008 Delhi – Even when the team traveled outside Kolkata to play the Federation Cup and the Durand Cup, EBRP members traveled with the team to lend support. Here is an interesting incident. The 2008 Super Cup was to be held in Gurgaon. The East Bengal team had landed at the Delhi International Airport at midnight. On landing, the entire team noticed EAST BENGAL the REAL POWER members standing at the airport entrance to welcome the team. The entire East Bengal management was surprised and astonished with the turnout
WE ARE ALWAYS THERE WHERE THEY NEED US MOST:
Federation Cup, 2010 – The club requested REAL POWER to organize a hotel for the team which was to stay in Cuttack for the Federation Cup. REAL POWER correspondent Soumik Dasgupta took the responsibility and made available the best facilities of Cuttack to the East Bengal team before any other club could avail. The team went on to win the Federation Cup, REAL POWER was given the responsibility to take the trophy from the airport and bring it to the club tent. We felt humbled and honored.
WE BEHAVE RESPONSIBLY:
26th of November, 2010 –
On the occasion of the derby a disastrous incident happened in the galleries of the Salt Lake Stadium. A bomb blast took a way a hand of an East Bengal supporter called Parimal Das. Immediately after the news, REAL POWER members along with Dr. Santiranjan Dasgupta took Parimal Das to a nearby hospital and admitted him over there. Although Mr. Das was not a member of REAL POWER, it was the moral responsibility of EBRP which made us perform the needful. A few EBRP members stayed at the hospital that night until Mr. Das was cleared off any possible Danger.
WE CELEBRATE SUCCESS, WE REMEMBER HISTORY:
REAL POWER members felicitated the Immortal Eleven of 1975 who defeated the mighty PAS club of Iran (1-0) and went on to win the IFA Shield. The felicitation ceremony was organized by the East Bengal club in the Netaji Indoor Stadium.
WE WELCOME NEWCOMMERS WITH OPEN ARMS:
Every year many new foreign and outstation players join our club. To make them aware of the spirit of EBRP has a big memento hanged in the walls of the East Bengal dressing room titled, “What is Red and Gold”.
WE TREASURE OUR PRESENT:
To show our support and love to the players, coaches and staff of the East Bengal club, REAL POWER celebrates the birthday of the each and every individual every year with a bang. Through this, all the players understand the difference in playing for East Bengal than the other clubs of the country. We are bonded by love and not by money.
WE VALUE OUR PAST, AND WE HELP IN CREATING NEW FUTURE:
26th July of 2003 – the day of ASEAN Victory. More than a win, it helped us to dream, to think big and to attain newer peaks. In many ways more than one, the day is also linked with the birth of EBRP. We celebrate it every year by cutting cake and celebration
WE CREATE NEW TRADITION:
We were invited by the club to travel in the team bus from Durgapur, again a new achievement in the history of Indian football.
