FC Goa played a 1-1 draw with Odisha FC in Indian Super League (ISL) game 2021-22 at the Tilak Maidan Stadium on Friday.
Ivan Gonzalez (42nd) gave Goa the lead in the first half while Jonathas Cristian (53rd) equalised early on the second period. There were chances for both teams to clinch the game but it ended in a deadlock.
It was a story of two half. In first half FC Goa kept pressure on Odisha FC defense and got the lead in 42’. Odisha FC started the second half much better than the first one. They were pressing the backline of FC Goa more frequently which was seen occasionally in the first half, as a result they equalized shortly after the start of second half.
The result means Odisha stay seventh with 10 points from seven games while FC Goa remain in eighth place with eight points from seven outings.
Ivan Gonzalez won the Hero of the Match Award.
On Sunday, December 26, Kerala Blasters FC will be locking horns against Jamshedpur FC. Meanwhile SC East Bengal will next play against Bengaluru FC on January 04.
