Bhubaneswar is all set to host the SAFF U-20 Championship 2022 from July 25 to August 3, 2022. It started as a U-19 competition. However, the tournament was later changed to SAFF U-18 Championship in 2017. This year it will be played as a U-20 Championship. The tournament kick-started in 2015 and the 2022 SAFF U-20 championship will be its fourth edition. A total of five teams – India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Maldives and Sri Lanka will take part in this competition.
Nepal are the most successful nation, having won the tournament twice. India lifted its first title in 2019 after defeating two times runners-up Bangladesh. India finished runners-up in 2015.
All the matches of 2020 edition will be played at Kalinga Stadium.
