France defeated Morocco 2-0 in the second semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup 2022 at the Al Bayt Stadium on Wednesday night to end the African side’s dream run in Qatar.

An early goal from Theo Hernandez (4’) and goal from substitute Randal Kolo Muani (74’) earned defending champions France a place in final.

France will now face Argentina, who sealed a 3-0 win over Croatia on Tuesday, as the two heavyweights meet for the first time in a World Cup final.

Antonie Griezmann won the player of the match award for his high-intensity performance against Morocco. He has now become the first player to create more than 20 chances in this World Cup.
