Hyderabad FC defeated Bengaluru FC 1-0 at the Athletic Stadium on Wednesday in Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22.
The result extends Hyderabad’s unbeaten run to three games and climbs to third place, while Bengaluru FC is now winless in four games and slips to the ninth spot.
Earlier in the tournament, Hyderabad FC defeated Mumbai City FC to register their first win against them and tonight they have created another history by edging out Bengaluru FC for the first time in the Hero Indian Super League.
Bartholomew Ogbeche scored the all-important goal in 7’ of the match.
Hyderabad FC dominated the game mostly in first half and deservedly finished the first half with a goal lead. They created many more chances but lacked the final touch. Bengaluru FC could not create much opportunity in first 45’.
However, The Blues were a much better side in the second phase but failed to hit the target. Credit should be given to the defense of Hyderabad FC as they stood tall and denied the Bengaluru FC forward line to create any opening.
Souvik Chakrabarti won the Hero of the Match Award.
Next, Mumbai City FC will lock horn with Jamshedpur FC. Meanwhile SC East Bengal will face an in-form Kerala Blasters FC at the Tilak Maidan Stadium on Sunday.
