Hyderabad FC defeated Odisha FC 3-2 in ISL 2021-22

Hyderabad FC with a brilliant come-from-behind performance defeated Odisha FC 3-2 in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 at the Tilak Maidan Stadium on Thursday.

Jerry Mawihmingthanga (45’) gave Odisha the lead at the stroke of half-time but Hyderabad put on a show in the second half with goals from Joel Chianese (51’), Joao Victor (70’) and Akash Mishra (73’) in the space of 20 minutes.

Jonathas Cristian (84’) reduced the margin but it was too little too late as Odisha succumbed to a defeat and remained in seventh place. Hyderabad consolidated their lead at the top with 23 points from 13 games although Kerala Blasters, sitting second, have two games in hand and are on 20 points.

Akash Mishra won the Hero of the Match Award.

Next, Jamshedpur FC will face FC Goa on Friday, 28th January. Meanwhile, SC East Bengal will next play arch rivals ATK Mohun Bagan on January 29, Saturday.
