Hyderabad FC reclaimed the top spot in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 standings with a dominating 4-0 win over SC East Bengal at the Tilak Maidan Stadium, on Monday.
Bartholomew Ogbeche (21′, 44′, 74′) scored a sensational hat-trick to extend his lead in the goalscoring charts. Aniket Jadhav (45′) also got on the scoresheet for the Nizams.
SCEB had a penalty awarded in 84′ after Ribeiro was tripped inside the box but the spot-kick was saved well by Kattimani who correctly guessed Franjo Prce’s attempt. The Nizams kept their clean sheet intact for the remainder of the match and secured three important points.
The result took Hyderabad FC to the top of the table with 20 points, ahead of Kerala Blasters on goal difference.
Bartholomew Ogbeche won the Hero of the Match Award.
In the next match, Mumbai City FC will take on NorthEast United FC. Meanwhile SC East Bengal will next play arch rivals ATK Mohun Bagan on January 29, Saturday.
