India and Malaysia played a 1-1 draw in FIFA International Friendly at Hyderabad

Indian men’s football team ranked 125th played a 1-1 draw with Malaysia, ranked 133rd in the one-off international friendly at the GMC Balayogi Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday.

Paulo Josué (19’) gave Malaysia the lead while Rahul Bheke (39’) equalised for India.

The draw means India remain winless for last 12 international football matches. Their last victory, against Kuwait in the World Cup Qualifiers in November 2023.

This was the 33rd encounter between India and Malaysia.  The Blue Tigers and the Harimau Malaya have won 12 matches each, while nine have ended in draws. 

India’s Brandon Fernandes was adjudged the Tulsidas Balaram Player of the Match.
