India defeated Bangladesh 2-0 to win the SAFF U17 Championship 2024 at the Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu, Bhutan, on Monday.
Mohammed Kaif in 58’ and Md Arbash in 90+5’ scored the goals.
Md Arbash was named the Player of the Tournament. Aheibam Suraj Singh was named the Goalkeeper of the Tournament.
Earlier, India defeated Bangladesh 1-0 and Maldives 3-0 to emerged the group A winner. In semi-finals, India defeated Nepal 4-2.
India is the most successful nation to win this title for 6 times – 2013, 2023 (U16), 2017, 2019 (U15) and 2023, 2024 (U17). Finished Runners-up in 2011 & 2015 (U15). India only in 2018 (U15) failed to make the final.
