India defeated Bangladesh 2-1 in the first semifinal of SAFF U17 Championship on Monday, at the Racecourse International Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

For India, Thanglalsoun Gangte scored a brace (51’ & 59’) while for Bangladesh Mirajul Islam pulled one back through penalty in 62’.

India will face Nepal in final on September 14. Earlier, in group stage India lost to Nepal 1-3.

India has won the tournament three times – 2013, 2017 and 2019. Finished Runners-Up twice in 2011 and 2015. In 2018 India finished third.
