Defending champions India went through to the semi-finals of the SAFF Women’s Championship 2022 with a 9-0 win over the Maldives at the Dasharath Rangasala Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal, on Saturday.
Striker Anju Tamang scored four goals, Dangmei Grace hit a brace while Priyangka Devi, Soumya Guguloth and Kashmina scored one each for India.
The Indian women’s football team had beaten Pakistan 3-0 in its opening game. The victory over the Maldives ensured that India would finish in the top two in Group A along with Bangladesh.
Five-time champions India will next face Bangladesh to determine who will finish atop Group A on Tuesday.
