India defeated Sri Lanka 5-0 in SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship 2021

India’s U-19 women’s team got off to a great start in the SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship defeating Sri Lanka 5-0 at Dhaka. For India, Nitu Linda scored two goals, while Santosh, Karen Estrocio, and Priyanka Devi each scored one goal.

India will next play Bhutan on December 15, Bangladesh on December 17 and Nepal on December 19 in a round-robin format.

The top two sides will face each other in the final, which will take place on December 22.

The first edition of the tournament was played in 2018, hosted by Bhutan. India finished third while Bangladesh went on to win the tournament defeating Nepal 1-0 in final.
