Indian women’s football team has been drawn with Japan, Vietnam and Uzbekistan in the second round of the AFC Women’s Olympic Football Qualifying Tournament to be held in October-November later this year.
The first round of the AFC Women’s Olympic qualifying tournament India defeated Kyrgyz Republic 5-0 and 4-0.
In Second Round, India is placed in Group C and will face World No. 11 Japan, World No. 33 Vietnam and World No. 50 Uzbekistan.
The second round of the AFC Women’s Olympic qualifiers will feature 12 teams. They have been equally divided into three groups (A-C).
The three group winners and one best-placed runner-up from the second round will play for the two spots for Paris 2024 Olympics in the final round to be held in February 2024.
Group A: Australia (hosts), Chinese Taipei, Philippines, Iran
Group B: China PR (hosts), Korea Republic, Thailand, DPR Korea
Group C: Japan, Vietnam, Uzbekistan (hosts), India
