India drop 15 places from 102 to 117 in Latest FIFA Ranking Released post AFC Asian Cup on Thursday.
The Blue Tigers, playing consecutive Asian Cups for the first time, lost all group-stage games to Australia by 2-0, Uzbekistan by 3-0 and Syria by 1-0, without scoring a single goal in any of the three matches.
There are no changes seen in the top ten of the global rankings. However, there is plenty of movement further down the standings following the matches contested in the CAF Africa Cup of Nations and the AFC Asian Cup. The major changes are – Ivory Coast jumped 10 spots to be placed 39th, Nigeria climbed 14 places to sit at 28th. Jordan moved 17 places up to be placed at 70th, Qatar rose 21 spots to 37.
