India lost to Nepal 3-1, failed to secure a spot in final at SAFF U20 Women’s Championships

India U20 Women’s team lost to Nepal U20 Women’s team in SAFF U20 Women’s Championships on Tuesday at Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka.

India required a draw to secure their spot in final, but despite taking an early lead lost the match and finished at low third place in league table behind Bangladesh and Nepal.

Apurna Narzary in 21’ gave India the lead, while Anjali Chand in 48’, Preeti Rai in 69’ and Amisha Karki in 89’ scored for Nepal.

Bangladesh finished the Group Stage with seven points, with Nepal coming in at second with six points, while India settled with four points. Bhutan lost all the matches to finish at bottom of the four nation tournament.
