India played a goalless draw with Mauritius in Intercontinental Cup 2024 opening match at the GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

Manolo Márquez made his debut today as head coach of Blue Tigers. Rahul Bheke lead India for the first time while this was also India’s first game in Hyderabad in 16 years.

Ranked 124th, India created a few chances but were unable to convert them into goals as Mauritius, ranked 179 took one vital point from the match.

Mauritius skipper Lyndsay Rose was named the player of the match.

India will next face Syria on September 9. Meanwhile, Syria will play against Mauritius on September 6.
