India remained at the 105th spot in the latest FIFA Rankings updated on Thursday.
India defeated Bangladesh 2-0 and played a 1-1 draw with Afghanistan in Qatar in June to qualify for third round for the 2023 Asian Cup. The Blue Tigers finished third in Group E in the joint qualification for World Cup and Asian Cup in June and thus maintained the position in rankings it has held since April 2021.
Belgium is leading the ranking table, followed by Olympic Champion Brazil, France & England. Euro Champions Italy jumped to 5th Place, this is their best ever ranking since 2013, Copa America Champion Argentina moved to 6th place while Spain & Portugal dropped to 7th & 8th Place. Mexico is at 9th place while Concacaf Gold Cup Champion USA moved to 10th place.
Denmark dropped to 11th place, while Netherlands climbed to 12th place. Uruguay dropped 4 place to 13th while Switzerland dropped to 14th place. Colombia remained on 15th place, Germany dropped to 16th place, Sweden climbed to 17th place, while Croatia, Wales & Chile dropped to 18th, 19th & 20th place respectively.
Among Asian nations, Japan is at 24th place, followed by Iran 26th & Australia at 35th place. Among Asian nations India is ranked at 19th place.
Indian football team will next play two International Friendlies against Nepal in September.
