India is currently ranked 126th while Malaysia 132nd.
Both the nations have faced 25 times earlier, India won 7 matches, Malaysia won 11 while 7 matches remained draw.
First both the nations met on 4th Sept 1959 in Merdeka tournament and the match remained 1-1 draw, while last time the two teams met was in October 2023 in the Merdeka Cup semi-final where India lost 2-4.
