Indian women’s team played an exhibition match with Nepal at a packed Paljor Stadium in Gangtok on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. The match ended 1-1, however, Nepal emerged 3-0 winners in the penalty shootout.
Head coach Crispin Chettri had a completely new starting XI from Monday’s match against Nepal in the Tri-Nation Friendly in Shillong.
Soumya Guguloth gave Blue Tigresses the lead in 30′ while Sabita Rana Magar in 79′ equalized for Nepal. During penalty shootout, riyadharshini, Santosh, and Astam Oraon missed for India, while for Nepal, Sabita Rana Magar, Rashmi Kumari Ghising, and Nisha Thokar scored.
The match, organised by the Sikkim Football Association (SFA), promises to be a special occasion for football fans in the region, marking the Blue Tigresses’ first-ever international appearance in Sikkim.
