India emerged champions of the SAFF U-18 Women’s Championship 2022 at the JRD TATA Sports complex in Jamshedpur despite losing the final league match to defending champions Bangladesh by 1-0.
India won with a better goal difference, +11 in comparison to +3 from Bangladesh. Both the teams finished with 9 points from 3 matches. Nepal finished at bottom with no points.
In today’s match, Aklima Khatun scored the only goal for Bangladesh in 74′.
Lynda Kom who scored 5 goals was adjudged the valuable player of the tournament and the highest goal scorer.
