India won the SAFF U17 Championships 2025 at the Racecourse International Stadium in Colombo on Saturday; Seventh title for the Blue Colts. They defeated Bangladesh 4-1 in penalties after the match ended in 2-2 in 120 minutes.
For India, Dallalmuon Gangte in 4’ and Azlaan Shah Kh in 38’ scored the goals. For Bangladesh Md Manik in 24’ and Ihsan Habib Riduan in 90+7’ scored.
Earlier, India defeated Maldives 6-0, Bhutan 1-0 and Pakistan 3-2 in Group B and Nepal 3-0 in semifinals.
India have won the title six times earlier – 2013, 2017, 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024, finished runners-up twice in 2011, 2015, finished third once in 2018.
For Coach Bibiano Fernandes, it was the fifth SAFF title for him as coach and the second in less than five months, adding to the SAFF U19 crown won in Arunachal Pradesh in May.
