The Indian men’s football team dropped two places to 127th in the latest FIFA rankings, released on Thursday.

The slip comes after a 1-1 draw against Malaysia in Hyderabad, extending India’s winless streak to a year. India last won against Kuwait by a solitary goal in November 2023 as part of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

However, Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya expressed optimism about India breaking into FIFA’s top 50 rankings within the next decade.
