Indian men’s football team started their Asian Games 2023 campaign with a 5-1 loss to the hosts, the People’s Republic of China, in the Group A match in Hangzhou on Tuesday.
For China, Tianyi Gao in 17′, Dai Weijun in 51′, Tao Quianglong in 72’& 76′ and H Fang in 90′ + 2′ scored the goals.
For India Rahul KP in 45′ + 1′ scored back one.
India will have to win against Bangladesh and Myanmar in the next two games. Only the top two teams along with four of the six best-placed third-place teams will qualify for the round of 16.
