India U20 National Team Head Coach Shanmugam Venkatesh announced 23-member squad for India’s upcoming campaign in the SAFF U20 Championship in Bhubaneswar. A total of five teams – India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Maldives and Sri Lanka will take part in this competition.
Nepal are the most successful nation, having won the tournament twice. India lifted its first title in 2019 after defeating two times runners-up Bangladesh. India finished runners-up in 2015.
All the matches of 2020 edition will be played at Kalinga Stadium.
Squad:
Goalkeepers: Syed Zahid Hussain Bukhari, Mohit Singh Dhami, Som Kumar.
Defenders: Amandeep, Halen Nongtdu, Bikash Yumnam, Sajad Hussain Parray, Raj Basfore, Brijesh Giri, Tankadhar Bag, Pritam Meetei Sorokhaibam.
Midfielders: Sibajit Singh Leimapokpam, Vibin Mohanan, Vinay Harji, Maheson Singh Tongbram, Sujit Singh, Harsh Sailesh Patre, Taison Singh Loitongbam, Macarton Louis Nickson.
Forwards: Gurkirat Singh, Parthib Sundar Gogoi, Himanshu Jangra, Shubho Paul.
